Unleash your creativity by sculpting small figurines and experience the joy of working with clay while connecting with others. \nWhy?\nThis project was created to introduce more people to the art of pottery and to provide a space for more human interaction. In NYC\, pottery often has a high barrier to entry. The Pottery Play Table aims to make pottery more accessible\, allowing curious individuals to give it a try without the usual cost and commitment. \nHow?\nClay can be reused and reclaimed\, making it perfect for multiple play sessions. The Pottery Play Table operates on a free-to-play and fee-to-fire model. Participants receive a small amount of clay\, enough to sculpt a figurine\, while supplies last. At the end of each session\, any unfired clay will be reclaimed for future use. No experience is necessary – I’m here to guide you through the process! \nFiring Fees:\nA small fee is charged if you’d like to fire and keep your figurine.\n🔥 Bisque Fire (1 kiln firing) – $12\nFired to cone06. Finished result will be hardened with a matte surface. Decorate with acrylics or other paints at home. Not food safe. \n🔥🔥 Glaze Fire (2 kiln firings) – $20\n🎨 Includes engobe/underglaze for decorating your figurine.\nAfter bisque firing\, I will apply a clear gloss glaze to your figurine.The figurine is fired twice\, reaching cone6 approx 2300ºF\, resulting in a food-safe gloss finish.
