For Private Pottery Lessons & Workshops

Payments & Cancellation Policy

I try to keep my workshop size small so I can pay more attention to each student who attends. Because of the intimate class size, full payment is required upfront to reserve your spot.

  • I understand life happens! If you need to cancel your workshop reservation, you will receive a full refund as long as you notify me at least 10 days before the workshop begins.
  • For cancellations made within 10 days of the workshop, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop are unfortunately non-refundable. However, the amount you paid can be applied towards booking a private lesson with me, with any remaining balance due. Rebooking due to a cancellation within 48 hours is offered as a one-time courtesy only. If a second cancellation is necessary, no refunds or rebooking options will be offered.

Finished Work

Student work will be brought to a community studio to be fired in a kiln. Fired pieces are estimated to be ready for pick up approximately 1 month after the lesson/workshop. Because pieces must be fully dried before firing and can be affected by current weather conditions and humidity level, I can only provide a rough estimate on when fired pieces will be ready.

While I will do my best to protect the student’s work, surprises often happen during kiln firings. Sometimes even if we do everything right, someone else’s piece in the kiln might explode and damage other work next to it. Due to the nature of ceramics, there is always a risk that your piece will not survive. I cannot be held responsible for any undesirable outcomes, including cracks, chips, misfired glazes or explosions. If your piece breaks in the process, no refund will be provided, however I can offer you more clay to remake the piece as a one-time courtesy.

Safety

There are sharp tools involved in handbuilding like sculpting knives, needle tools, etc. Any potential injuries from accidental mishandling of tools shall be the responsibility of the student. I shall not be held liable in the event of an accident or injury as a result of any activities during the lesson.

For workshops held at public venues, I shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage of personal possessions.

By participating in my lessons and/or workshops, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to my terms and conditions.
